An excellent series true to the great British tradition of compelling detective dramas. I think Michael Kitchen and Honeysuckle Weeks (gotta love that name) are brilliantly cast.
Just watched the NCIS episode "The Stories We Leave Behind" which was a tribute to David McCallum who played Ducky for many seasons on that show. I think it was well done and respectfully honours David McCallum.

Has anyone watched Kaleidoscope on Netflix and which order did you watch the episodes? Does it matter really? I don't want to watch it chronologically as that defeats the purpose I expect. Netflix starts with Black and then Yellow. Black is just a teaser explaining you can watch in any order... the default Netflix order isn't entirely in sequence.
Edit - the Netflix ordering is different for everyone. White or the Heist itself isn't the finale on mine.

If you like sci fi, Foundation is worth a watch and i quite enjoyed SiloJust finished Slow Horses and thoroughly enjoyed it, it's been confirmed two more series are coming.
Also started watching Masters of the Air, it's the typical American "we won the war all by ourselves" and the RAF have so far been portrayed as cowardly upper-class weaklings. Three episodes in and I'm almost going to say you'd be better off watching Memphis Belle.
I got a free trial of Apple TV+, there's precious little on there besides the above two and Severance which I've not started yet but is apparently very good. Plan is to binge what we can in the three months and then cancel it.

I'm very much enjoying Shogun, a limited series about an English sailor finding himself trapped in Japan, all in the year 1600 where the existence of Japan was kept a secret in Europe by the Portuguese. The Englishman is caught in a power play on the brink of war, and the two overarching themes of the series are political manoeuvring and most of all the importance of communication (about half of all dialogue is subtitled Japanese) and the consequences of miscommunication. It's also visually rich and well-acted.
It took me until the second episode to fully commit to watching it, so I'd maybe advise for some patience as there's a fair bit of stage setting. Also some scenes are surprisingly gory. I'd also recommend following reviews and related articles on avclub.com and denofgeek.com to further dive into the subject matter.

I think that this might be based on the novel Shogun by James Clavell, an excellent read. If the series is half as good as the book then it will be worth watching.
There was also a book called Tai Pan by Clavell about European traders in Hong Kong at the time of the Opium Wars in 1832, brilliant read.
