The sayings “details matter” and “did I ever tell you” began to grate for me. No idea if they are as repetitive in the books.
Some of his former team just didn’t come across well, particularly his love interest.
Just weren’t believable
Shame as the first season is excellent

My wife is enjoying ‘Funny Woman’ at the moment. For me it’s okay, but not something I will stay up late to watch. It brings back a few memories, however, of the swingin’ 60s; and some not so memorable.

‘Miss Scarlet and the Duke’, which took me a while to warm up to. ‘Van der Valk’, a remake of the series produced in the 1970s and 1990s. I enjoy it, but find it much more violent and edgy than the earlier series…a sign of the times?

I am a great Morse fan, well written stories and John Thaw was a tour de force. Two hours each episode and perfect with a glass or two of red wine, crackers and blue cheese.

Endeavour had big boots to fill, the first series was pretty good but struggled after that.
Did you know that John Thaw’s daughter plays the journalist in Endeavour?

I liked him in Sweeney. 👍

Just finished Slow Horses and thoroughly enjoyed it, it's been confirmed two more series are coming. :D

Also started watching Masters of the Air, it's the typical American "we won the war all by ourselves" and the RAF have so far been portrayed as cowardly upper-class weaklings. Three episodes in and I'm almost going to say you'd be better off watching Memphis Belle.

I got a free trial of Apple TV+, there's precious little on there besides the above two and Severance which I've not started yet but is apparently very good. Plan is to binge what we can in the three months and then cancel it.

I did the same but didn’t cancel for a couple of months. Then I realised there wasn’t much content I was interested in.
