Who's losing the passion a little....?

So many truths on here.

Yeah you do loose a bit of drive. At first it’s all the excitement of new soaps, blades, razors and brushes. I still enjoy my shaves but feel there’s nothing to “Talk about”. I also usually have one day a week where I don’t shave. That’s always a bonus the next day as I get a lovely shave after a days out.

I think as well my problem is I’ve far too much on the go. I’m at a point where buying more is a no no. So I need to clear the decks and order some new in.

I always mixed things up until I realised I just never used any soaps up so in thought I'd try and get rid of some..... I have to admit its taking longer than I thought to go through each soap though.

I think now is a good time to give that up! :)
You don't have to give it up entirely. Just do what you do using a different soap or cream every shave. At some point you'll notice that one or two may be getting close. You start to see the bottom. At that point I'll use that soap or cream more frequently. And once I know there are only 3 or 4 more shaves left I'll use it every day until it's gone. This way there is light at the end of the tunnel. But until you are nearly done, no need to make yourself nuts. This is supposed to be fun, right?

I enjoy all my shaves.

If I have the time I’ll take the time - these are always my favourite shaves where I’ll spend a bit of time picking the soap, brush, razor and post shave products, I’ll take my time with proper prep and have a relaxing shave where I really get some me time. If I don’t have much time I can be done in 5 minutes post shower with a quick lather with a synth and a speedy 2 pass.

If I don’t feel like shaving, I don’t shave. Can’t imagine growing a beard though. 4 days growth and I’m hating it.

I went for years, more like decades, with one soap, one brush and one razor. I got on the forums and started changing everything dialy but now have settled into a routine of the same setup for one week. Seems like the best of both worlds.

I don`t shave everyday and I do look forward for the day I`ll shave. I got into hobby phases and get out of the or stay in them longer. I can stop getting into hobbies but can`t stop shaving.

Also 1 soap is enough for me and 1 razor when I found that one. Still looking.

Yep, that was like me. Way, Way back in the early old days, it was around the year 2016,
Then I went and joined this place. And to tell you the truth, I thought I was contented but how wrong was I !
Now I have at least 11 razors from 1900s, 1920s, 1950s and beyond, A collection of fine Badger's and synthetic silver-tipped brushes with at least 1 rubberset style, More pucks, tubs and cream shaving soaps than sense and then there is the fragrances, you've got to have them matching smells, Aftershaves, EDT, Colognes and Attars. Ah and then there are those blades, you should try this, no! try that. So many blades, so many choices and each one an adventure :).
Do I shave everyday? F%%k no! I'm lucky if I shave 3 times a week.

For me it takes AGES to use a soap, so this has been a little dull. Maybe I should go back to choosing a different one each night again to add a bit of interest to the shave!
I still have soaps from my first week of wet shaving 2 years ago. The only soap I have ever finished was one by Abbate y La Mantia. That's why I no longer buy soaps or creams -- I have them coming out of the woodwork (so to speak).

Not at all, it's my little bit of me time where I take my time to give myself the best possible shave I can. I have enough razors and soaps to keep things interesting and it's a great way to start the day, looking good and feeling great! :) P.
Yep. This is where I am and intend to remain.

However, I don’t chop and change every day. Blades I use until they are spent and they remain in the same razor. Soap I use for three days and I try to manage the change overs so that only the razor/blade or the soap changes. ASL I just use as I fancy that day but it’s usually changed less than the razor or soap.

I find by changing less and less frequently I get better shaves and the changes are paced and I maintain interest.

Nope, not really. I have never shaved everyday, don't feel the need to, but I do enjoy it when I do...

While I enjoy shaving with a safety razor, quality cream or soap, and a brush, I never had a passion for it. It is simply a cost effective means of getting a close, comfortable shave, nothing more. So no passion for me to lose and no letdown.

In the end, what difference does it make? Why not shave when you want, for whatever reasons you want, and with whatever products you want? It's not worth worrying about, and there are plenty of other things in life besides shaving.
