Just sold the above Monoblocs for more than I paid 15 years ago. Can’t quite believe I have parted with them though.

I build my own amplifiers and since I'm stuck at home I've rebuilt my system. The amplifier is now a 300b SE with a 4P1L driver in triode, amorphous core plate choke. All directly heated. I needed a bit more gain and the best way I found was to put a NE5532 op-amp board after my AK4490 DAC. The op-amps are almost transparent so the sound is determined by the tube stages, which is exactly what I want. Good upgrade.

Wish I had that talent.

Wish I had that talent.
It all started when I was a gigging bass player and my tube amp had problems! I taught myself to rebuild it and went on from there. Had to do a lot of reading to understand it all. I love building stuff. All the Meccano and Airfix models I had as a kid....

I have a dedicated room for my main system;

Amplifier - Luxman M800a
Pre Amp - Audible Illusions L3 Modulus (left amp with dealer for 1 1/2 years trying different phono stages until I found one I was happy with).
Speakers - Wilson Benesch Trinity and Taurus combination
Reel to Reel - Technics 1520
Turntable - Garrard 401 (Waiting for new plinth with 2 tone arms, Schroeder Reference and SME 2012 rewired)
Cartridges - Transfiguration Orpheus and Ortofon SPU Meister Silver
Phono stages - Rossner & Sohn Canofer, EAR 834P and ZYX Artisan, not sure which will be best with the SME

My home office system;

Integrated Amp - Copland 405
Speakers - Diapson Micra III Excel
CD - MHZS CD88H
Tuner - Accuphase T100

Also have a couple of small cabins off the grid in a forest that I run Tanberg Receivers (2055 and 2075) with Old Denon 1520 or 1540(?) CD players, can't remember exact model numbers and a pair of Opera SP Callas for each system.

Also in the pipeline is my second Garrard 401 which will need a new plinth with 2 tonearms. Probably run 2 turntables on my main system. Not sure which tonearms to use with which cartridges yet. Also have 2 Lenco L70 turntables that need new plinths with only a single tonearm on each. One table will have a SME 3009 while the other another rewired SME 2012. Also have an early 70's Sansui tube receiver as well as 2 later G series receivers that sound great but not sure what to do with. Was going to build a mono system but realize I will never get around to it just like the extra R2R machines I was going to use.

Decided last fall I will decide what systems I will continue to use and get rid of all the extra gear I have accumulated over 15+ years.

Watched the new Bond film today, my old tech 5:1 surround sound still does the job.

x4 AE floor standers, a AE Centre Speaker and an Eltac Sub. Old kit at over 20 years old !!!! Does the job for me.

Wow, some nice stuff on here.
I have been dabbling with putting my own stuff together.
Copying diyaudio forum bits and picking up second hand boards.
Soldering together a couple of kits/boards.
I keep changing things so it has not made it into a case yet.
More of an ongoing experiment.

Gone down the digital and Class D route.
Quite pleased with what I have got so far, but far from aesthetically pleasing yet :)

USBridge Sig/reclocker with better clocks.
TDA1387 based DAC
TPA3255 based amp.
Plus a couple of better power boards.

Oh and a WHAMMY separate headphone amp.
AKG K712

I am 80% with some speakers as well. Learning some things.
Having a bit of a ponder before i finish them off and am enjoying their sound.
(also second hand bits and a sheet of ply from a skip :) )
Not entirely sure I am going to keep them yet.
