I think that razors with negative blade exposure is for me to go, as I can't get a shave without that sting on post-shave. It's not technique as I don't get razor burns or anything and post-shave sting with alum and AS is managable. I just still find my shaves be tad bit on aggressive side. No matter how I go with my razors, there's always that sting. Especially on neck, jaw and moustache/mouth area.

I did bit of research and apparently negative blade exposure is good for those who has "loose" or "soft" skin. And that's what I think I have.

Only razor with negative blade exposure I know of is Tatara razors. Masamune and their adjustable versions. Great majority is either with positive or neutral exposure. But there is not much info about exposures even manufacturers websites. I was thinking about Rockwell 6s but I read that it has neutral exposure.

I do have one razor with negative exposure and that's King C Gillette that you can buy for 20 euros from everywhere. And I got much better shaves with that than with my de89 clone, but it's blade gap is quite small to be efficient enough. Same with my Gillette slim adjustable. On setting 1 exposure goes negative but gap is so small that you can't do anything with it. On my Gillette tech and de89 clone both has neutral exposures.

So I'm looking for options for new razor and Tatara masamune is pretty much only option right now.

I read some where that as you go to the higher numbered plates on the Rockwell 6s the gaps increase and blade exposure goes negative.

Always wanted a schick adjustable injector razor, how aggressive are they say compared to a Gillette slim on setting 9?

well i had my first hair cut in about a month and a week or so
and believe it or not i use hair clippers and the electric shaver,
tbh just cba with anything just wanted to get it done but i enjoyed the fact that there wasnt any nicks, weepers or irritation afteer which was nice tbf

Finally shaved my hair off after months without using a razor, just been using clippers or electric shavers

Anyways so I tried this out and was amazed at how nice the sponge feels,
you know normally even with a decent towel when you push it against the grain on your head it can cause a bit of irritation, well with this spongey towel you get none of that!

just rinsed the ramer sponge in hot water prior shave and rubbed against the head and then after the shave just rinsed with cold water and used it once again, honestly felt nice and soothing

Not heard of it before but a quick Google search and it seems to be used as a baby towel, that would explain why it's made to be smooth and sooth for babies

what's the longest you've gone between buying razors? Regardless to de/se etc

finally got around to ordering from yaqi on aliexpress and its my first time using aliexpress,
like that i can use paypal, very easy to use, somewhat like dhgate

@Sig Solo after watching your vid on the yaqi razzo i really fancied getting that and also the yaqi tile too

anyways finally popped my cherry lool 😂

also got around to finally ordering the ninfeng razor,
kept forgetting and like someone on the thread mentioned can pay by paypal so all good

just wonder how long it will take to get to me

Was watching a video from shave nation earlier and he shaved as normal except instead of running the razor under hot water while shaving he ran it under cold water, as advised by a subscriber.

I tried it this evening and I have to say it was an incredibly enjoyable and irritation free shave. The cold razor on the skin actually felt great.

Worth a go to see what you think.

I am sure there are more than a few people, like myself, that have for years been using cold water to shave with. I make my lather using cold water, I rinse my face with cold water as well as my razor. It is not very popular but it did reduce irritation for me over shaving with hot water.

Yea watched that earlier

I switched to completely cold water and made a big difference to the irritation especially in the sensitive areas like the neck (head shaver), occasionally I use a bit of both

Also cold water feels very refreshing too

Yea since I stopped using the scuttle because it cracked it kinda worked out to be a blessing using cold water lol

I use hot, warm and cold. Not all at once, but I do mix it up.
Most of the time I use warm water for the shave and the final rinse cold.
