Extraordinarily Uncomplicated
Looks like Connaught nearly out of Med Preps (max order is 70 blades). With current £->$ exchange rate, possibly the equal of buying from medical supply house in US. My last 250 purchase from Connaught running low (I did supplement with some from a SMF member at really low price).
To be honest, as much as I like Lab Blues, I'm not that excited in restocking. I think I've got about 20 left... GSB, Gillette Platinums, Nacets, Platinum Blacks are all as good for me.

Where are the Polsilvers Lee???
Don't like 'em mate, find them rough! I do have a couple of NOS Polsilvers, that are very nice, but the run the mill ones, nah, better blades for me...

A Burham Single Edge Razor.

It uses proprietary blades, but GEM blades will work.
They give an extra 0.65mm blade exposure, so the razor is quite aggressive with them.
But with a bit of care and no pressure, the shave is very good, pleasant and close.
The razor is very light and weighs in at 26.9g. The head is made from a single piece of sheet metal.
Not a bad acquisition for a smidgen over a tenner.

Got B, C & D with 3.5” handle, I realised the brass version is heavier than the Stainless Steel and the balance feels FANTASTIC!!!

The observations of Lab Blues and the alternatives is near enough exact to my preferences. I'd add the Permasharp SS to the list as well, which I find to be closest to a good Lab Blue as in it takes a couple of shaves to smooth out then it's very sharp and smooth, but I've found quality for Permasharp SS to be better and for now anyway, more competitively priced than Lab Blues (which can be said about the majority of the PPI blades)
I'll have to check to see if I have tried Permasharp SS...

It looks like I put my order in just at the right time, it seems Connaught will not be restocking these blades! At least you have the medical supply house there in the US.

It's a good blade, but IMO it's not a million miles away from Nacet, GSB, etc. All Gillette's top tier blades perform superbly and are well priced.
