I'd been tempted too, but while the AL General is nice, it's not really good enough to buy the same thing in a different material.
I'm also not a fan of patina on personal care gear.
Now, if they were to make an OC head, regardless of blade type and priced the same as the brass General, hmmm...

FWIW...... The Brass General has been reduced from $89.99 USD, to $69.99 USD Gents. Doesn't get any better than that for one of the better and smoothest shaving SE's in the market today. Not a bad deal for you boys across the pond if you have been contemplating acquiring one......

Have you had any problem with the smooth handle when using it?
I find smooth stainless handles to be quite slippery and was wondering if the brass handle is any better in this regard?

I was late to this party. After a fair amount of shaves with the brass General and Schick Pro Line blades it's been a bit of a non-straight shaving revelation for me, effortless, efficient and smooth. I can't see my only other non-straight I have left, a Delta Echo Cubano Fatboy, ever getting another look in.
It's never going to replace any of my straights but it's a mighty fine deputy. At the price they are now selling for and with the Schick Pro blades being available relatively cheap, it's a premium shave at a very accessible price point.
