All I can say is for those of us who did find it drying (there was at least 4 of us on this forum with the problem around the time the rose/vetiver LE's were originally released) loading less resolved the matter, it's thanks to Nishy really, he was the one to discover it.

Did you find with less loading time the lather was not enough for 3-4 passes?

When I tried it I found it drying and not very slick. With the lighter load are you finding it any slicker than before when you found it drying?

I like to load heavy, I don't find the post shave drying, but it isn't over nourishing either. It just feels right. Best way for you to find out would be to try the soap, post shave preference is highly dependent on one's skin.

Can't resist but say again in here.
I was extremely hesitant due to the cost.
It just really is good.

Disappointingly it stings me and I normally just get rid of a soap if it does that.
This one, however, is sitting there waiting while I work out how to make it not sting.

I would love to see how many shaves you get from it compared to A.N.Other soap.

Edit: Actually, someone on B&B did it and counted 380 x 3 pass shaves with lather to spare.
I generally do a 2 pass shave so could get away with less.
I generally only shave every three days atm, so that would last me three years.

This soap is slicker than most American Artisans?

...Wholly Kaw and B&M are much, slicker...
I am sure about this. This thing that costs my-one-day-money-I-can-get-from my-job, is definitely a good soap, but not great. So, instead of getting a MdC I would definitely get a B&M Glissant base.

Literally a few swirls maybe 10 or less on the puck and lots of water.

I see that people load for significantly less time MdC soaps compared to others (e.g. 10 secs instead of 30) but to be honest I haven't really seen that with mine. I mean I tried it once and it just wasn't enough. I needed more soap. Eventually I've ended up loading the brush similar time as the other soaps - yes, a bit less but not significantly so. Nevertheless I did notice that the soap doesn't seem to decrease (of course it does but not noticeably), I mean I've used it for at least 10 shaves (3+ passes each) and its surface level looks like day one! Perhaps I'm using less pressure when loading with this soap, who knows...

Yeah it just never seems to decrease!

I bought my 1st MdC 2nd hand for about half the price of new, when I got it the top of the soap was about 3mm from the lid! I then bought the Vetiver brand new so could compare the 2. These 2 soaps alone will last me about 3 years...
