Thanks to my good friend (although you wouldn't know it) Mr Steve Bowles I am the proud owner of a jar of Martin De Candre Fougere soap. I gave it a whirl tonight and all I can say is God Damn it's good. The lather is just so thick and luxurious. Scent is superb too. I'm a lucky little chappie tonight. Thanks Steve.

Great stuff, cleans off the razor easily, post shave is not too greasy, great cushion, slickness is decent. Rose and Vetyver are definitely softer but the scent profiles are divine. Also when I mention softer, they are still classified as a hard soap. MdC and Grandstaff are all I need.

Never tried Grandstaff but I can see why you would be more than content with the MdC. I'm stopping chasing soaps. I think they have got about as good as they can and they are all around the same in performance these days.

So is it worth the money?

Also, sorry for being rude but what more can MdC offer in comparison with Barrister & Man or even a Razorock soap?

  10. There is no comparison with MdC. It is the best soap. Period. The quality of the soap, the lather, the cushion, glide, after shave feel is unique and worth every penny. And as everyone will tell you, it will last forever. I used it weekly for a year and there was little, if any, noticeable usage in the jar. It might make your eyes water at the initial price, but it is the very definition of 'value for money'. You need to get this soap! I will happily take your pronouncements of gratitude and awe after your first shave.

I have to agree. I think it is really good.
I would probably stop there too, except it doesn't agree with my face wholeheartedly.
    Slight stinging.
I have moved other stinging soaps on.
I am hoping that it will go away. It is staying in my cupboard for a bit.
