After seeing everyone else's set up, I'm almost embarrassed to post this. Bought a couple of these, one for home and one for the office.

Does what I need it to do.

Salter EK2408 One Cup Coffee Maker – Personal Filter Coffee Machine, Washable & Reusable Filter, Includes 420ml Stainless Steel Travel Cup, Brew Single Serve Coffee In 3-4 Mins, Use Ground/Coffee Pads https://amzn.eu/d/4rgSUk1

Price has gone up, I paid about £20 for them.

A press produces a coffee bean oil type brew than those with filters. I have an ancient Chemex with which I wet the brown filter before use. There is a notable difference between the press and filter. I actually like both.

Recently treated myself to a Moka type espresso pot from ProCook. They are equally good as the original Moka pots, though cheaper to purchase.

I got the 6 cup and regret that I didn't buy the 9 cup.

Currently, running some French, Fair Trade blend from Sainsbury's through it. Lovely, earthy coffee, by the way, a real treat.

In addition to a French press I have a large Moka pot. I bought one in stainless steel after seeing the interior of an aluminium pot become pitted over time. I think the Moka pot makes a better cup than the French press, but it’s a bit fussier to use when I’m in a hurry.

Yes, that's true, they do become pitted. Galvanic corrosion from heavy metals and/or electrolytes in the water.

I use boiled water from the kettle to speed up the coffee making in the Moka pot. It also reduces the pitting. I have a piece of leather I wrap around the base to stop burning my hands when I attach the top pot.

All this talk of coffee pots, right I'm off for a nice cuppa. :okay:
