I came across this soap on sale at Shaving Station reduced from £18.99 to £12.50 which was enough to get this tight Yorkshire man to let the Moths out of his wallet and splash out a little.
I went for the citrus based Italian Orchard, I'm a lover of Citrus scents in my soaps and I find the freshness and zing it offers is to my nose more appealing than woody Oud based scents these days. The citrus is clean but there is a Frankincense in the background which gives the citrus a good depth though it isn't overwhelming
The tub is a nice deep Grey sturdy plastic and has good graphics which would have great shelf appeal if it was sat among other soaps, The colour of the Wolf's eyes gives a little nod to the scent in the soap a nice clever touch. The tub isn't particularly wide though but is more than acceptable for loading from and in practice I had no trouble from it. After soaking my Shavemac brush and flicking out the excess I set about loading the soap. The lather explodes with this soap and as my brush was a little on the dry side the resulting lather had a Marshmallow texture to it I applied it to my face and it soon became apparent it is a thirsty little number I kept adding water from the tips of the brush and it loosened and turned into a really thick, slick, glossy lather which was perfect for giving the Feather blade I was using in a Tatara the cushion and glide it needed.
I really enjoyed this soap and for the price it was a good buy I have nothing but praise for it. Great shaving soap. Update; Since writing this review the price has dropped to £11.50 per tub, even better value.
