Wilkinson Sword new DE coming

So I noticed a new post by Wilkinson Sword on their UK instagram showing British Olympic Fencer James Andrew Davis using what appears to be a DE, when I commented what razor and blade was being used. Wilkinson Sword replied "its a very special razor we're launching soon, keep your eyes peeled on our page"

There's a big variance between their definition of special and the typical frequenter of this forum I imagine.

Unless you feel a £5 Chinese razor rebranded and sold at £10 is special. But, hopefully a fair few will get given as Christmas gifts to get people off the cartridges.

I knew they'd do something stupid like re-branding a cheap tacky TTO. They couldn't even release a descent mid ranged TTO like a parker. I'm guessing they want to have people try the DE think this is crap and go back to paying more for Carts.

I started with a basic Wilkinson plastic job and it lead me into proper DE shaving. Might be the same for others...

Sorry to say this, but keep the plastic one and don't bother with this one. Many shavers above me mentioned the fact that it will be a cheap Chinese crappy razor(nothing wrong with Chinese products in the RIGHT price) and under the umbrella of Wilkinson it will cost definitely much more. So stay away.

Fun PS: This guy in the photo uses way too much pressure judging by the way he holds the razor! I can see from here the razor burn coming!

Reviews on German forums were quite positive. It seems to be well made, shaves well and apparently, it is quite a bargain for the price.
Main complaints were about the handle, which most considered to be too long. The overall verdict was that is a great first DE razor for beginners. The whole promotional campaign didn't last very long and impressions were that it didn't sell well.

Strange they are now trying the uk market. Do you know how aggressive its shave is?

If its a £10 i'd be silly not to give it a go but i'm just such a sceptic when these big brands try and play both sides of the fence. What next Gillette bringing back the Fatboy?
