Which Boar brush

YMMV

The Proraso Professional and/or the Omega 98. If you want a smaller brush, the Omega 10065

@Wayne this thread made me chuckle, I think there is next to no chance of you having the patience to break a boar in. It can take quite a few uses and when there is a pretty little shavemac calling you, it is even harder.

You might as well start the for sale thread now, save yourself some time
:okay:

I will have you know Flobberdob that I once waited for a cheesecake to defrost before demolishing it.....Granted it was in the Micro and it took 5 mins. Sugar, I think you are right buddy. Anyone want to buy an unused Boar brush?

Was that a Shavemac with a stainless steel handle I just saw on shavemac.com?

I've bitten the bullet and chosen this Proraso Professional. For £7.99 it looks nice enough and I went for the natural bristle as opposed to one dyed to look like Badger, that defeats the object of buying Boar. Hopefully once the tips split it will break in nicely. I intend to use it as a travel brush so I do not leave one of my expensive Badgers behind and rue the cost. I will break it in though before I take it away.

A little s10065 synthetic Omega would be better for Travel, dries very quickly.

My brush arrived today and in typical Amazon fashion it isn't the one in the picture. It is probably the same brush but with a different handle. This one is all chrome. Totally un classy, brash, bright and in fact it looks like a ladies plaything. Ahem! Anyway, it's as stiff as a pensioner on viagra. I may sweep the leaves from outside the patio with it in order to break it in a bit before I put it near one of my soaps. Let's see though, it will probably have broken in for this time next year....... yours sincerely , desperate for another Shavemac group buy Wayne.

You just have to persevere with a boar brush to be rewarded. To speed the break-in time up keep palm lathering it into submission. When you do get it broke in I think you will be surprised how good they really are.

Hi Bob. TBH I nipped home at lunch and palm loaded it with some Bluey's Chinese soap. I use it for cleaning my brushes as it is cheap. I am very pleasantly surprised at just how well it lathered. As an aside it is an Omega brush so it should break in nicely. I'll keep palm lathering it into submission.
