Feather Artist Club Shavette/Super Professional blade. A two pass shave goes along with using these blades. My lather was not as wet as usual, but still effective. I must be the only shavette user on this forum.

Personally, I do not consider a shavette to be a straight razor in the real sense of the word. It most certainly is a shavette though.Lots of shaves from this Super Professional blade and many more remaining, I suspect. I am enjoying my renewed interest using a straight razor. The AC Feather SS is a joy to use. I topped it off with a generous splash of Aqua Velva. As they say, "there is something about an Aqua Velva man".

Others share your opinion, but no one has offered a satisfactory explanation why that I find convincing. I bought the Feather SS as a gateway to using those you hone because I was unsure if I wanted to invest in honing equipment. For me, I use the Feather exactly as I do those I’ve honed.Personally, I do not consider a shavette to be a straight razor in the real sense of the word. It most certainly is a shavette though.

That is the basic difference that separates shavettes from straight razors. A type of razor where you can change the blade is just not a straight razor with a fixed blade. It is not a cast of semantics, the difference is real.Others share your opinion, but no one has offered a satisfactory explanation why that I find convincing. Maybe I more appreciate your opinion. That you can change out the blade in a shavette makes it different than one that cannot be changed out? That is the basic difference that separates shavettes from straight razors. Do you think one requires a different set of skills to use effectively?
