What razors have you moved on from?

Rather than the usual top 5 thread, what are the razors you've tried, and moved on from because they weren't for you?

I started the hobby very slowly, used a Muhle R89 for one year, until I just got sick of fighting to get a good shave around my jaw. Next I went to Fatip, with both a Grande and Gentile. Used them for a year, and never touched the Muhle again.

However, though my problem area was better it was just less of a struggle, so, again after that year I decided they weren't doing the trick for me, at the same time my wife bought me a Gillette New short comb, and that was an eye opener. I use the Fatips less and less until not at all.

I wasn't sure if it was just technique, but last week I broke out the Grande, and same issues, and from there I've decided that it just isn't for me any longer.

This hobby is fascinating in that there is so much personal variation in what we like and don't like, with the Muhle and Fatip being highly recommended easy shavers, yet I find everything about using say a Tech easier, though others say how hard they are due to the tight shaving angle.

Anyway, what have you found isn't for you?

Schick Krona
Feather Popular
Weishi TTO
Mühle R89
Gillette HD Rocket
Gillette SS Red Tip
Gillette New LC
IKON 102
Some Parker OC, don't know the model anymore

Those are the ones I remember from the top of my head.

All of my shaves are with a Fatip OC or a Mühle Rocca now.

An interesting topic.

I find that I will move on from a razor, yet retain it in the den, only to use again after months or even years and find that I enjoy it again and am thankful that I didn't sell or trade it.
Examples of such razors (for me) include the Feather AS-D2, Wilkinson Sword Sticky, and Ever Ready 1912.

I think it helps to make some major decisions. For me these were:
- no more injectors
- no more Artist Club SEs
- no more SBs, just open comb DEs

This has cut down the field a lot. I have the GEM razors I want except maybe a 1914 if I see one. And efficient open comb DEs are in the minority, and I already have Fatip, R41, Gillette Old Types and New. The usual suspects. Plus I already have a titanium handle which I love using, so really only interested in heads. I'd be interested in open comb heads like an ATT H2 or a CG level 3 or a Timeless or a Karve but these are mostly unavailable, not out yet or waiting lists. So things are pretty static, which is very good for my wallet.
