Rather than the usual top 5 thread, what are the razors you've tried, and moved on from because they weren't for you?
I started the hobby very slowly, used a Muhle R89 for one year, until I just got sick of fighting to get a good shave around my jaw. Next I went to Fatip, with both a Grande and Gentile. Used them for a year, and never touched the Muhle again.
However, though my problem area was better it was just less of a struggle, so, again after that year I decided they weren't doing the trick for me, at the same time my wife bought me a Gillette New short comb, and that was an eye opener. I use the Fatips less and less until not at all.
I wasn't sure if it was just technique, but last week I broke out the Grande, and same issues, and from there I've decided that it just isn't for me any longer.
This hobby is fascinating in that there is so much personal variation in what we like and don't like, with the Muhle and Fatip being highly recommended easy shavers, yet I find everything about using say a Tech easier, though others say how hard they are due to the tight shaving angle.
Anyway, what have you found isn't for you?
