kudos on your ATG mentholated prickly pear- its the first 'barbershop' scent ive gotten and im a fan, if it would classify as a barbershop scent. i read somewhere it is a 'western barbershop' scent. the post shave whiffs of cedar(?) is my favorite bit and i love the menthol in there. (the horribly sparse shave store/vacuum repair shop is starting to carry more stuff including a small assortment of PAA, youve doubled their variety in shave soap-nice work)

a classic barbershop scent for me is more like the Fine Accoutrements American Blend.

by the way, are you considering any tallow base formulas in the future? Vegan bases give me skin issues if i use them for more than a few days and I love the scents from PAA but cant use them regularly. i could have sworn i saw a tallow base soap on your website quite some time ago, but i think i was misremembering some other artisan website. if you made a tallow based soap (preferably with lanolin) id say youd be in the running for dethroning my favorite #1 soap (MWF). [if you need a tester for forth coming tallow soaps hit me up!] but good work with the ATG!

im searching for a really powdery barbershop scent. i thought the sterling barbershop had promise till i read you post. what are the ones that were too powdery for you? the powderyiest? (you get what i mean)

I'm genuinely surprised so many equate Creed Aventus-esque sweet smokey pineapple with barbershops? I've never smelt anything like that... Pashana however, yes

Hiya,

Years ago I was fortunate in acquiring 2 NOS tubes of Penhaligons cream in the Racquets flavor and that frag to my nose is a true classic barbershop one. Heh, there's enough left for maybe 5-6 excellent shaves. This scent might still be available in the EdT but really no idea.

UK barbershop: Pashana
Canadian barbershop: JM Fraser's cream & Booster Polar Ice
Italian barbershop: Proraso "evergreen" or Cella (any almond soap) with Floid Amber or Vitos Aftershaving
Turkish barbershop: Arko & lemon cologne

As plenty of various scents are considered Barbershops - can someone tell from experience what soaps/splashes are similarly scented to Fine American Blend.
So far I tried and for me Maggard London Barbershop, Mickey Lee The Kraken, LPL Italian Barbershop, Creed Aventus types (Wickham Classic, Fine Platinum, Stirling Executive Man), Clubman Pinaud are nowhere near Fine American Blend scent and are all considered some sort of Barbershop scents.
