The Great Amazon Heist, interesting, funny in places and makes you think about using Amazon.

My granddaughters introduced me to an excellent animated fantasy series called The Owl House.

The characterisation is clever and the storyline is complex enough to be engaging, for adults as well as children, with a healthy dash of humour. It also includes a beautifully observed relationship that develops between two central characters.

Annika. Not sure this one is a keeper. It’s Nicola Walker who plays Annika, she’s not convincing. I struggled with her in Unforgotten too.

Upstart Crow is back and i really enjoy it.

Vikings:American Quest

Interesting program on how the Vikings could have built a boat to cross the Atlantic, the program makers build a new 80 ton boat based on what is known on the original construction and then make the voyage.


Little known fact, the majority of the people of Norway could not swim at the time of the Vikings and were terrified of the water.

The route had a landing in Greenland and on to L'Anse Aux Meadows in Newfoundland.

Eat your heart out Columbus. Leif Eiriksson beat you by nearly 500 years. L’Anse Aux Meadows is called Vinland in the Viking sagas.

I’m watching it for the second time. Notwithstanding some gratuitous violence violence and gore, I enjoy it. I also watched the original series in the 1970s, but the new version is not faithful to the original. Nonetheless, it is a good watch.

Two more we’re watching: Vienna Blood and DCI Banks. At first I didn’t like VB, but after a couple of episodes I really warmed up to it. Banks is okay, but I much prefer Vera.

Got that marked down in my Netflix list, just finished watching The Fall Of The House Of Ushers, a modern adaption of the classic Edgar Allen Poe book, and really enjoyed it,

I'm watching Brawn - The Impossible Formula One Story. Half way in so far, very entertaining if you are or were into F1 (it's no longer what it once was, I agree...)

Keanu Reeves presenting is a bit jarring though, keep expecting him to CQC everyone on screen any moment.
