@AlphaShaving Any news on the new plate for the brass? I haven’t had multiple versions of a razor in brass, steel or titanium, but I sense I might this time!

An extremely smooth and nicely efficient shave. The Black Ninja Super Platinums work incredibly good in the Guido with the perfect amount of blade feel and ultra comfort. Honestly, I haven’t tried a blade that did not work well with the Guido with the Feather perhaps being the best so far but, these & the Gillette Minora are very, very close to the Feather in overall performance with slightly better comfort and durability over the Japanese steel. The Guido is a heck of a value and a superb tool especially in this Brass alloy. I hear there might be a run in Stainless which should be interesting especially for those that don’t like Brass because of the patina it develops and the extra upkeep in maintenance. We’ll see what Steve over at Alpha drums up next. If the Steel version is shiny, I just might bite.

The SS Guido is every bit as good as the Brass version in both craftsmanship & performance. If you like to smell your razor while shaving and find the Brass a little too stinky for your liking, this one is a fine razor without the odiferous annoyance of the Brass. Personally, I don’t do sniffing of my razors but, everyone has a razor vice & to each their own.

Cheers….

An excellent evening shave with the Alpha & Stubble Meets Steel SS Guido with a Wizamet installed. Stirling soap/splash to protect and soothe with Ferragamo to finish the deal. Lovely ending to a shave.
