Feb. 8, 2022 - The end is near

The ring of death is appearing on the soap - guess that means only a handful of shaves is left on it. The DG 28mm knot definitely is making a quick job out of the softer soaps...

As always, brilliant lather from milksteak and amazing slickness - no complaint.

Tatara Nodachi performance up to par too - I think it's becoming one of my favourite DE's. - Karve CB, Blackbird, and Nodachi - those 3 are probably my favourite trifecta from DE format.

for Scent of the day - mugler, pure havane. And damn, it is lovely. Such an amazing scent!

Enjoy your shaves Ladies and Gentlemen.

The Feather really likes the Wizamet, a very comfortable shave today from a full 3 passes.
A fantastic lather from the lather monster that is the RR400 and the Danum soap, really helping the shave along.
Ending with the Barts tester which i am using up and the Danum splash, very nice indeed.
On a positive ,
Mrs TC has tested negative on her 1st LFT and i have been testing negative every day. Fingers crossed we are through this.
Stay safe and enjoy your day all.

RR Original Syn 24mm
Mondial Tabacco Verde
Claymore Evolution
Schick Proline ( 5 )
La Toja A/S Lotion

Missed yesterday’s Shave , and today used the same kit that I used when away at the Weekend. The Shave finish on Sunday was passable, but today the Shave was smooth and comfortable, with rather a “ Face Stroker “ being attained.
The Evo is proving to be a winner for me, but yet have to try it with Kai blades.

In search for some variation on my increasingly stable shaving pattern:

Brush: Omega Evo 1882
Soap: Stirling Duke
Razor+Blade: Tatara Nodachi + GSB#1 and Tatara Masamune + Feather#1
Balm: Stirling Duke
Aftershave: Extrò Cosmesi Dandy

I think I'm really sold on the Tatara's. Feel no need to change to any other razor. I swap blades (Astra SP in the Nodachi, Nacet in the Masamune) from time to time, and it feels great too. There's not many razors in which I can use a Feather blade and not suffer razor burn after a short while, and I've tried a few (Rocca, Rex Ambassador, RR Mamba 70, ...) - in the Masamune I have no such issues.

Isn't it great to be able to look forward to your daily shave?

Take care, all!

Razor: Tatara Nodachi
Blade: Astra SP, 2nd use
Brush: Yaqi Yaqi Green Obsidian Silvertip Silvertip Badger
Bowl: 3D Printed Bowl
Soap: Taylor’s Of Old Bond Street Lime Zest Cream
Aftershave: TOBS No. 7 Lime Aftershave
Balm: Bart’s Balm Ben Cruachan Balm
Additional Care: Osma Laboratoires Alum Block

The new Nodachi is lovely and is a bit more aggressive than it’s sibling the Masamune, but I’m not sure it’s different enough to warrant keeping long term.
The TOBS lime zest was the zingy morning pick up I needed, and it was so quick to lather it was ideal for the busy Monday morning. Still it produced an amazing lather and great shave!
Enjoy your day guys!
I kept both - you have the short handle Nodachi, I see. I do feel the difference between Nodachi en Masamune, and decided to keep both and exploit their differences for different blades ;-)
