Monday 18th May...

A really simple shave today with nothing of note happening which I always find good! I'm still getting my technique right with the injectors but with soaps like these it makes life a lot easier. I don't think the passes work quite the same with an injector razor for my face but it may just be the feel of the razor in my hand. Time will tell. Anyway, a lovely shave. A nice clean start to the week.

Just thinking, experiment using differing angles. I have to remember do the same when I use my collection of GEM models.

For my SOTD I thought I’d do a side by side with a couple of my favourite titanium razors: Paradigm Diamondback (63g) and Alpha Shaving Works Outlaw Evo 3. Independently I felt these gave very similar results being both very efficient and smooth with very little blade feel so was curious how they compared.

Specs wise
Diamondback
~0.80mm gap, slightly positive exp, 63.0g
Outlaw Evolution 3
~0.70mm gap, neutral to slight exp, 64.5g.

The Diamondback felt more direct and efficient, with a touch more blade feel and I got a great shave with just 2 passes. The Outlaw felt smoother and more forgiving but slightly less efficient, needing three passes to reach a similar result, and still not ‘quite’ as close as the Diamondback.

Both excellent razors but Diamondback takes the win on my skin n stubble combo

I think the rigidity of the blade is part of it and also the different shape of the head. I'm hoping more experience with them will help
