Sunday 12th (Artisan) April...

Moving on to another blade I want to test again this coming week in the Dorco Titan. It took me ages to first test this blade as I thought it might be a cheaper poor quality blade but when I finally plucked up the courage to first use it, it was amongst the best I have used at a scandalously cheap price. It was excellent again tonight. Will it reach three shaves like last time?

Tonight's soap is an artisan classic. If you were ever on the fence about P&B, then buy Bluebird. Smells like a dream and the performance is outstanding.

High quality sink time tonight...

Wilkinson TTO razor
Rite Aid platinum blade
Gillette Foamy shave cream
Gillette aftershave gel
Just like Polo cologne

Hot shower prep with Old Spice extra clean soap

Two passes and I produced a decent "close enough" shave. It was part nostalgia and part relearning experience. If I don't tense my upper lip the it feels like my mustache is being pulled rather than cut. Gillette aftershave smells like the sixties.

Here's hoping you all a great Monday.

SOTD - Monday 13 April

Pre-shave: Warm shower
Shave cream: Godrej Cintrol Lime Fresh
Razor: King C Gillette
Blade: Racer Super Stainless (first use)
Brush: Green Omega Pura Setola boar brush
Splash: Skin Bracer Original

A green theme to kick off the week. I bowl lathered with the excellent Indian cheapie Godrej which has a decent lime kick. The reliable Omega boar brush always does a serviceable job, although I usually tend to prefer it when using hard-puck soaps. A brand new Racer SS blade in my King C Gillette razor is a strong performer and an underrated combo. Two passes plus touch-ups resulted in a pleasing mix between DFS and BBS. The old school Skin Bracer supplied the fresh, greeny finish. Have a great week and enjoy your shaves everyone...

Shave-13-04-26.jpg

A day off so took my time with the shave today, and my first cold water shave. Really liked the scent and the cushion from the A&E soap, lathered up really nicely (although took quite a bit of water). Enjoyed the shave and I do think that the cold water helped (but will keep doing it for a while to see) but still left with a rash on the right hand side, lower neck which I can't seem to ever avoid at the moment. Think the 3rd use of the Feather was one too many but I do really like to make full use of my blades.

Cheers all and have a good day.
