Shave off between my two most efficient (and honestly gnarliest) razors, WR1 0.94mm SS mirror vs Atelier Durdan No.7 1.2mm SS bead finish (frankenstein’d to a Timeless Ti TRH6 satin to tame this beast) … cushioned with an opulent pillow of A&E Maullu whipped up with a CH3. Both these razors are a step up for me from an R41 as ref.

Took them both for a quick drive using fresh Astra Superior Platinums to keep things consistent and calm. First pass WTG and you could easily have stopped there for a light touch up for BBS.

Finished my XTG/ATG to get BBS+ and likely 18+ hours stubble free… both notable alum sting.

The WR1 0.94 isn’t for the faint hearted, substantial blade feel and very direct feedback and a bit more toothy ATG under the nose.

I’m was delighted with how the handle swap on the No.7 from a SS La Maurice to the lighter Ti handle made the balance better and the shave feel a bit smoother and more controlled.

At 14 hours in, stubble still trying to find the light … both are seriously efficient tools 🤪 … maybe the WR1 takes the slight edge but when that’s wafting round your chops you know it!

1953 (Y4) G. Tech / Gillette Platinum blade
Elite Razor 28 mm boar brush, aka The Lather Eater
Baume.BE cream / Snake Bite and Antica Barberia splashes

The Lather Eater begrudgingly let me get a second pass in without reloading the thirsty ass knot. I’m very impressed with the scent of the Baume cream. It’s subdued, unassuming and pleasant. And as anyone will tell you, there’s something special, no, magical about these early 50s fat handle Canadian made Techs. Ask Gary @brit, he’ll tell you

All told, today’s shave was two perfect passes to bbs.
