Had a reply from Simpson and they’re making a Polo 10 in the right sized handle for me nowThis feels like it’s turning into the depreciation thread for me 🫤
I ordered this Polo 10 Manchurian

But it doesn’t match the spec on the website- it feels like a size 8 handle and has a 25mm knot when measured at the opening despite stating it’s a 27mm. The loft is far higher and I can feel the plug very clearly at the base like it needs to be set 4-5mm lower. Here it is next to my other 10 and the 12.

It’s a shame because if the knot was set lower in the right sized handle it’d probably be great.
Hopefully they buy the quality person (if there is one!) a new pair of glassesHad a reply from Simpson and they’re making a Polo 10 in the right sized handle for me now![]()
This 59 arrived almost an hour ago and here it is alongside the 57 to give you an idea for scale. Given the design of the handle and the heft, I'm not sure why this brush doesn't get more hype and praise then it does. It's pretty much perfect for anyone wanting a longer, yet heftier (or more substantial) handle.

Will do!Be sure and post a review of the brush.

I know this is all personal, Brad, but whay is it about the Silvertip that you prefer over Manchurian? I may have to give two band Silvertip a try..M7 Two Band Silvertip

Color looks like a bowling ball but eh, I am in the tank for Simpsons two-band. This bumped a more attractive sapphire Manchurian M7 off a crowded shelf.
Any idea as to why they would put a higher loft on the 57 vs a shorter loft on the 59? I'm assuming it was to create more of a difference then just in the size? This 59 arrived almost an hour ago and here it is alongside the 57 to give you an idea for scale. The ones I have all seem to have softer face feel but sufficient backbone (not a lot, just sufficient). I can imagine that the two-band may be too soft for some, but for me they are the exact sweet spot I like.I know this is all personal, Brad, but whay is it about the Silvertip that you prefer over Manchurian?
Hand made variation (or lack of quality control - whichever you prefer).Any idea as to why they would put a higher loft on the 57 vs a shorter loft on the 59? I'm assuming it was to create more of a difference then just in the size?
This is according to the measurements on their website, so the differences in loft are intentional...Hand made variation (or lack of quality control - whichever you prefer).
Beauty, Mark.Simpsons Chubb 2 (Synthetic) - King Charles Coronation Special
Arrived today after approx 2 weeks from ordering. A fantastic looking brush, the Pictures of it on the a Simpsons website do not do it justice. The engraving on the bottom of the brush is faultless. The knot has been very well shaped, which on occasion can be a let down with the Simpson synthetics. Much depends on who putting the knots in and trimming . Is it worth the money ? yes, most definitely. Not a great lover of Manchurians so the badger hair version was not for me, and the price was rather high.
My only comment / thought I suppose was that Mark could have chosen a different handle, say a discontinued shape such as the “ Phyl” to give these brushes a little more presence rather than the easy option, oh well use a Chubby 2.
All in all, delighted with the purchase
