YepSounds like the Duke is everything the Classic should have been![]()
I replaced the synthetic knot in my Classic 1 with a Muhle synthetic V2. Much, much better, but not very cost effective.Sounds like the Duke is everything the Classic should have been![]()
It also gives you an excuse to skip gymit still requires more force to splay than a badger or boar, but so what?

Here you go, then. Three CH2 Manchurians in coral, amber and emerald, and three CH3 Manchurians in cobalt, ruby and sapphire.@Optometrist
Yes, great idea.
Wonderful collection, David! Very nice indeed! Here you go, then. Three CH2 Manchurians in coral, amber and emerald, and three CH3 Manchurians in cobalt, ruby and sapphire.

Thank you, Chris.Wonderful collection, David! Very nice indeed!
As a traditionalist I think you should add an ivory handle as well.
Do you have a particular favourite?

I understand David, I like you prefer lower lofts for nice backbone and scrub. I actually have one of my Shavemac fans set at 46mm (though it is a 25mm knot)Thank you, Chris.
I did have an ivory in both sizes, but both being in the past year meant higher than I like lofts. I sold them both.
I'm still not 100% sure if I'll hold on to the sapphire. Again, at 57mm, it's a tad too high for me.
Until yesterday, when Ben's Amber arrived, my favourite has been the coral. The loft is only 48mm and has wonderful backbone and scrub. The Amber is only 1mm higher, but first use, this morning, was superb. Can't believe he let this go.![]()
Yeah. Not badHere you go, then. Three CH2 Manchurians in coral, amber and emerald, and three CH3 Manchurians in cobalt, ruby and sapphire.

Chris, current lofts are around 52mm for the CH2 and 57mm for the CH3. The former is still acceptable to me as there seems to be a trend now for bulb hybrid as opposed to fan hybrid knots. Older brushes have 48-50mm and 54-55mm, respectively.I understand David, I like you prefer lower lofts for nice backbone and scrub. I must eventually try a couple of Chubbies in the Manchurian hair though older ones may be the way to go. That amber CH2 is a really beauty though!![]()
