It's a Dog's life, here are my two, Father & Son Oscar & Boris the Bedlington Terriers, on one of our walks high in the Brecon Beacons looking north towards, Llwyn-on Reservoir South Wales. PS you can see in the far distance the tourist mountain of choice Pen-y-fan, I steer well clear of that place, there are far more scenic walks much closer to home.

Grindstone Lake, Ruidoso, New Mexico. Roughly, 7300 feet in elevation.

Watching the sun rise while fishing. The critters start stirring, birds are singing and the morning air.

Usually, my wife and I are the first ones out there and catch a limit of trout before 10 am.

I have told this story before but the mention of trout means I have to tell it again.

A friend has a house that slopes down to the River Test, this is only about 12 inches deep and has a chalk bed, you can see trout in the hundreds. A favourite thing to do is to take an evening walk, stop and put your arm in the river, the trout will bump into your arm all the time like the wag of a dogs tail.

The way we were. Nothing like looking back half a century. How times change.

That is me on the right, about 150 lbs lighter with more hair than today. Sadly, the bride and groom (my wife's brother) are no longer with us. Their son is the only member of that part of the family left, his sister having died a few years ago. At least he now has this photo for his collection of memories.

Here we are today. At least we made it this far. It is a long and winding road to who knows where like the song goes.
