Nice to see you back, and glad to hear that you're feeling better. My rant today is related to my long absence from this and all shaving forums. At least the ones I haven't been banned from already. I'm slowly coming out of my long stupor after job loss, divorce and a resetting of all my social interactions. I've taken the time to distance myself from people who I have come to learn were never really my friends. And there are a lot of them. While my social life has become quieter, I don't believe that is a bad thing. I've come to learn things about people I thought were my friends over these last 7 or 8 years. I no longer speak with those people. I've revived old friendships with friends from grammar school. Made new friends via my foray into music (I'm a drummer, or at least try). I've definitely switched some levels of stress with new different levels of stress. But overall, I feel better about who I am and who I associate with. Ok. Rant over.
Especially those with a chocolate coating.
If you dipped them in whisky and you’ll have a major heartburn, whisky and peanut doesn’t go together.Especially those with a chocolate coating.
Not tried peanuts with whisky or whiskey. Regardless, most whisky gives me heartburn, whereas Irish and Canadian whiskey doesn’t. My late father was Scottish, so he was greatly disappointed with me.If you dipped them in whisky and you’ll have a major heartburn, whisky and peanut doesn’t go together.
Any sort of brown alcohol (not beer or stout thankfully!) wreaks havoc with my gut. I spent years abusing my body and am paying the price for it today. Not tried peanuts with whisky or whiskey. Fortunately for me I can tolerate (only too well) dark ales, stout and porter. I do like a fine cognac, but I have to be careful otherwise it too will give me heartburn and reflux sometimes. On the other hand dark rums do not affect me in that way. I just don’t know why (Scotch) whisky doesn’t agree with me, other than it’s poison, but so are all alcoholic drinks. In addition to heartburn, some whisky, especially the heavily peated, make the backs on my hands and my forearms itch.Any sort of brown alcohol (not beer or stout thankfully!) wreaks havoc with my gut. I also get heartburn from cognac. Used to love to drink Hines but I've stopped getting it because of the heartburn. Love darker beers as well and fortunately I can tolerate them. Some whiskey does go down a little rough but so far that has not happened with my favorite, Lagavulin 16. I would be very upset if I started getting heartburn from that wonderful scotch. Guessing you are allergic to peat given the itching? If it's not one thing, it's another.Fortunately for me I can tolerate (only too well) dark ales, stout and porter. Clear liquor used to make me batshit crazy, so I stuck with brown, rum became my choice. No alcohol now for over thirty years.Any sort of brown alcohol (not beer or stout thankfully!) wreaks havoc with my gut. I spent years abusing my body and am paying the price for it today.

When I was 17 I was a counselor at a summer sleep-away camp. Long story short, one night I downed 18 ounces of straight vodka (2 styrofoam cups worth) in about 45 minutes. I remember having rowboat races on the floor of the rec hall (there were no boats involved, just my ass on the bare floor), and feeling reeeeaaaly sick the next day, and maybe some splinters in my butt. Haven’t touched straight up clear alcohol of any sort since then. 49 years later even a whiff of vodka makes me sick to my stomach.Clear liquor used to make me batshit crazy, so I stuck with brown, rum became my choice.
