I would think if what you value is reduced or taken away, it would not allow you to be happy, but you could still be content. Contentment is being settled, learning to live in the present and condition for which you exist, not needing anything. There are a good many things I value that are not presently as I would prefer them to be, but I am content with things being as they are because I understand humans have differing values. Is the opposite of happiness sadness or discontent? Perhaps it is situationally relative…
Seemingly you managed to miss the post only slightly further back up the page warning what would happen to people continuing to post anything political. Replying to an older post in the same vein still counts as well you know.I was simply replying to someone else's post.
I want to rant about that disgusting child’s toy called Slime. Whoever invented it should have their head stuck in a bucket of the stuff.
It gets everywhere, makes a horrible mess and stains the carpet if you drop it after it has gone off.
Grrrr

As long as one can get the service they need, it's good with me for the voice to be artificial. I would much prefer artificial to someone hired because they are multi-lingual, but not easily understood though no fault of their own.Artificial Intelligence.
I called my bank this morning, I had a normal conversation, found the advice very helpful although I offered my number that identifies me, they told me that they didn't need it. We had a normal conversation.
It was only when I put the phone down that I recognized the voice from the last call I had made to them and that I had been involved with AI.
I know what you mean. What surprised me in talking to this voice was that it sounded like a regular adult male, I asked a question about opening another account, they told me what I would need to do and how to proceed. The answers were to the point and answered my questions. As long as one can get the service they need, it's good with me for the voice to be artificial. Yup. I think the days of "Keeping it real" are over or nearly so with AI taking over as it has. It might be just me but there seems to be no checks and balances on AI and its use and misuse. Couple AI with the big strides forward in robotics and you have a recipe for disaster. I think I'll just continue to be very wary of both.As @Twelvefret said, as long as you get the customer service you are seeking, no harm.
My own issue with AI is all the garbage videos being posted to Facebook, Tik Tok, Instagram, etc. And often those videos are intended to do nothing more than trick people into thinking it's real or worse. Which means those videos serve no meaningful purpose. Can AI help us do things faster, better or more accurately? Haven't seen the evidence of any of that yet. It may be there but it just hasn't been shown to me. Until then, I'm going to be critical of AI.
Absolutely!!! Too much fake AI crap aimed at social media, all very easily believed by people and easy to be tricked. Films, news, even confectionary. As @Twelvefret said, as long as you get the customer service you are seeking, no harm.

However on writing things it’s very good. I taught my students a lesson on all things A.I. Some of the music writing and picture generation was a little off, but we were using freebie software. For writing though it was very good. I asked it to write a scheme of learning for a subject I teach. Comparing it against what I already had it was spot on.
It needs to be used with caution Though. I had the students write a story using it. I then sat down, read through and picked words I knew were outside their normal vocabular. They had no idea what the words meant or how to spell them.
Sorry what I am trying to say is it’s a useful tool. On its own NO ! But for certain things it speeds things up and can give direction. It needs finishing with your own touch to it and can’t be trusted.I don't see how this is a good thing. If the result is a writing sample that does NOT reflect the vocabulary, intelligence and understanding of the person doing the writing and using AI, then this will not be helpful but will end up being just another way to deliver something FAKE to those seeing and reading it. There is enough fake news and worse, too many people who are unable to decipher real from fake. Not willing to accept this either.
