This is just my own personal point of view. I have travelled through Europe since the 1960s, and not once have I felt threatened or scared of the European Police carrying a sidearm and machine gun. I have always believed that the UK Police should all be armed with at least a sidearm. If I lived in the US, I would apply if possible for a concealed carry, I would also make sure all my children and Wife were well trained on how to use a firearm. My Nephew just came back from a trip to the US. He stayed in Tennessee, he loved it, he visited a gun range, and he smoked a few targets. I'm so jealous of you guys over there. I do have some great friends from the US, especially those Texan guys; they have some great gun collections

Well the founders of USA incorporated the Second Amendment into our Constitution for a reason. Have grown up with Firearms starting off with BB & Pellet Gun at age 5, owned them over 70 Years personally. Had them Issued to me in Military Service & Time as Law Dog. I understand, respect, and last understand and practice 4 basic safety rules.
A Firearm is a Tool like a DE Razor, use it wrong, bad things happen. Respect it, follow safety rules, you should be OK.
Recall when the Cops in UK, never carries firearms, today the World has changed, more do, more are trained in use. Cannot imagining work my old are in South Los Angeles with nothing but a prayer, and night stick. Because even in bad areas where we have firearm ownership laws, bad people always are almost always armed.
Rip from Yellowstone is what you find on every Ranch in USA, got to be your own police force, as 911 is far away most of time.

I have no problem with our police force not being armed on a routine basis. There are specialist firearms officers who are used when the circumstances are such that they are needed and I’m fine with that.
I just do not understand the US obsession with firearms.
