Has the lotus manchurian not been around for a while? I believe the new, super duper one is the Tyrant, where the knot alone costs in the region of €150 (before tax).

I was looking on the new homepage a while back. According to the menu, most of their knots appear to be hand-tied. Really not sure what makes the Tyrant so much more expensive.

I think the Lotus series had been around since mid-2021. I couldn't bring myself to spend the money on the Tyrant.

I folded. AE and Oumo had a sale on a few weeks ago. Voucher stacking and 'fan discount' meant I got this for considerably less than their normal asking price which I felt was too much. 26mm Lotus Manchuria Fan:

Beautiful handle on it.
Chris, how do you like the brush? I have a Lotustip one that is too band and I find it too soft. It is not effective lathering hard soaps. Another problem I encountered is that couple of the tips are breaking with each shave. Any problems with yours?

I gave it a palm lather earlier Sam but it didn't go well. I could still smell the chemical treatment of the hair on the brush (no badger funk though) and this caused the lather to completely dissipate. I imagine it will be fine on the next test - just needed a wash out. The tips are incredibly soft. I imagine yours are breaking due to over-treatment.

I'll let you know how it goes on the next test lather once the knot is dry.

Gave the brush another palm lather today (using Vitos Red). Chemical smell had vanished and the brush lathered with ease. No broken tips. These may be the softest tips I've ever felt. I'll need a shave with it to judge whether that's a good thing or not.

I am very happy to hear it is working for you. Mine has super soft tips as well. It sort of even feels a little slimey they are so soft. Softer than my synthetics I’d say. The only thing that bugs me is the tips that break. Mind you, I used it probably only half a dozen times. Hopefully that will stop…

Slimy is a perfect description! It'll be interesting to see how it feels on the face.
