RS-10 with Mild base is a, you guessed it, is a mild razor. Paired with Feather you get minimal blade feel and decent audio feedback with good efficiency. It has a rather large soap channel that is very effective in cleaning. Fit and finish is top notch (as price suggest). I appreciate the handle with no knurling but a great grip and different diameters allow me to hold it like a pencil on ATG stroke and rest my finger on the bottom wider portion.

The RS-10 with the mild plate is a very nice razor resulting in a smooth shave. The Karve B&C as well is perfection in my book.

The new Gillette Skinguard was built for 1 day, 24 hour growth and nothing more but, when used in that fashion, as smooth and comfortable as any DE made today.

Last year at 65 yrs old I decided to go back to DE razors after 40 yrs of cartridge and electric razers . Got a super 10 dollar deal on a Rockwell R1 gift kit , great deal but it just didnt feel as comfortable as I need for my sensitive skin . I ordered a g+f gentle shaver / Timor 1354,for 33 dollars Canadian . Shipped from Mont Bleu in Czech

It came with one Timor blade so I tried it today and it was super easy to find a good angle , and I got a smooth one pass shave as good or better than I'd had with 2 or more passes with the R1 . I also gave my neck a second go but slipped in a feather blade , worked great and no irritation at all .

Setback with the Calypso, while it works great as a daily I skipped shaving yesterday and it really struggled with a two-day beard. I think the tiny gap stymied it. I switched to the steel M2 and that worked much better but felt harsh. I like ATT razors but am not sure that they like me. :(

Back to the PILS tomorrow.

Hone razors ( if you can still get one) are about as "mild" as you can get. They do take a lot of work to get a good result.
