I see that its expensive but why does a solid bit of steel attract more money than the tech they have in this gillette. I do agree that I think the price is very inflated and they would do even better selling it for cheaper.

So past the design, and intial shop start up costs for CNC machining why is a 3 piece solid bit of steel costing the price that some razor makers are charging. I'm thinking of the timeless's, wolfmans's. Those high priced bits of metal don't have engineered moving parts. Why so much for them IMO

Can’t argue with that except those will last a lifetime and beyond and also don’t have the exorbitant costs of cartridges or the environmental impact

Supply and demand, basic economics says that they'll charge what the market will support.There's no incentive for them to charge less while their products are selling, in the case of Wolfman faster than he can make them.

Also CNC machining doesn't scale, the machine can only make one part at a time, which leads to low production volume which drives the price up. If you can only make four razors a day (for example) each one needs to cover a quarter of your daily expenses and pay your wages or it's not worth doing.

Unless they are hand machining everything i'd think after tooling a programed a CNC cn bash out each parts in runs all day every day. So 4 seems like a bit small a number to me

It's just a handle to hold a sharp edge to shave with, and that goes for all razors. There is no defense for high prices.

Does a CNC machined handle for a toothbrush deserve a triple digit price tag, I don't think so.

I won't pay big money for a springy tube to hold my toilet paper either.

It was a number I completely invented to illustrate a point, having no idea how quickly a CNC machine makes a part. In the case of Wolfman they are polished by hand and that takes some time to get it to the level that they are.

After Gillette's limited trial range sold out in less than a week on Indiegogo, the Heated Razor was showcased at the Consumer Electronics Show 2019 where it won 'Engadget's People's Choice Award.'

Another high tech solution to a non-existent problem. This insinuates there is no requirement thus no demand.
