Soap: Extro Legno di Rosa
ASL: Osma Alum
ASB: LEA

I wasn't keen on the Legno di Rosa from the jar but it improves once lathered. This rose isn't a 'dark' rose like MdC but a floral powdery rose - along the lines of TOBS Rose. Once lathered a Musk note comes to the front and the combined scent lingers long after the shave. It was only afterwards that I thought "this reminds me of Tabac". It's. Not the same scent as Tabac but that floral muskiness is along the same lines.

This was my first use of the Extro base that includes milk. I'm not convinced the base is any better than the standard veg base - in fact I didn't notice much residual slickness but perhaps this was due to the effectiveness of the D plate.

Soap: Extro 17° Stormo
ASL: Extro 17° Stormo

I was on the fence about the scent description before I bought this soap:

A woody, aromatic fragrance, which boldly opposes mysterious, erotic and warm notes.
Top Notes: Black Pepper, Cannabis, Woods
Heart Notes: Heliotrope, Resin, Woods, Coffee
Base Notes: Incense, Oudh, Amber, Musk, Red Pepper

I bit the bullet and ordered it anyway in the name of science. I'm glad I did. The scent is fantastic. It's pushed its way in to my top 3 Extro scents. I liked it that much from the jar that I ordered the matching aftershave which also smells great from the bottle.

The shave was spectacular - plenty of lather and 3 passes completed for a genuine BBS finish. This Karve D SB plate could well be my favourite. The performance of this soap matches my previous experiences - plenty of slickness and easy to lather. Residual slickness was notably lower again but I think this may be down to the efficiency of the D plate. The scent was present and nice during lathering but dissipated during each pass which is a shame. I experienced the same thing with the Fra Rinik which is another great scent.

I ended the splendid shave with the splash and things quickly changed - my face was alight. I've not felt that kind of burn since I used the PAA Harvest Moon splash. I'm absolutely gutted as the smell is awesome (have I mentioned that yet?). I'll be saving the splash to use as an EdT. Logic says I should sell the set but I can't bring myself to do it (yet!).

Razor: Carbon Shaving Cx Original
Blade: ASCO Super Stainless (1)
Brush: Yaqi 2B
Soap: Extro Barocco
ASL: Osma Alum
ASB: LEA

Barocco - the scent is a floral musk in simple terms. This is the blurb:

Barocco is beautifully scented with Bergamot, lilac, rose, peach and violet, with undertones of musk, wood and amber.

It's a nice scent but doesn't hang around once lathered. I can't see myself hanging on to this one although I might of the scent didn't dissipate during the drudge.

Performance was as per the other soaps.

Extro is good soap. For me, the only problem is the transportation inconvenience and transportation cost caused by the glass bottle. If the acrylic jar like MDC can be used, I think it will be very good.

Razor: Blackbird SB
Blade: Gillette 7 O'clock Sharp Edge (2)
Brush: Yaqi 26mm Moka 2B
Soap: Extro Egyptian Oudh
Pre: Proraso Red
ASL: Proraso Red
ASB: RSC

This soap does not smell good from the jar. I can only describe the scent as 'sweaty Egyptian man'. Fortunately the scent improves once lathered. I'm not overly familiar with Oudh (Oud?) So can't comment on the smell but this soap has a combination of something strong and dark with a cologne type scent over the top of it (once lathered!). If there's a thin band of performance in which the Extro soaps have operated so far, this felt slightly on the lower end in terms of performance. Perfectly acceptable but I feel some of the others have performed better.

The Blackbird and 7OC delivered the goods in 2 passes for a finish that should comfortably get me through to tomorrow evening. I love the audible feedback from this razor. It's like a scythe!

Razor: ATT X1
Blade: Proline (7)
Brush: RazoRock 400
Soap: Extro Arancia Italiana
ASL: Signature Soaps Hibernia
ASB: Baxter of California

Arancia Italiana is probably the most beautiful orange scented soap I've smelt during my time wet shaving. The scent persists throughout the shave unlike some other Extro scents which tend to fade. This soap has the softest consistency of any of the Extro soaps I've used. Lather was excellent and ensured enough residual slickness for me to complete my shave on 2 passes with the incredible X1. I'm falling in love with this razor.

Followed with Signature Soaps Hibernia for that all-Citrus morning.

Extro reviews are generally pretty hard to come across so I thought I'd start a thread that can provide a single point of reference for them. Happy for others to chip in with their experience as well.

I have a reasonable number of candidates to test:

Starting Monday, I will use each of these and report back here.

There's an added Boycie bonus though! I will also take you all on my journey with my new Blackbird which I will use for the duration of this endeavour.

I know this is exciting stuff, but don't let this thread distract you from getting on with your lives.
Very nice collection there! I am an afficionado of Extro Cosmesi's line of shaving "croaps".
I have used and/or use these ones:
Del Don, Tabacco, Espezial, Dandy, Barocco, Pirata, Liquirizia & Magnolia, Fra' Rinik, Positano, The End, Latte Mandorla, Rivoluzione, 17° Stormo, Absintium Artemisia. I'm not equally smitten with all of these, but sometimes you have a really nice soap with not such a great scent (Rivoluzione, for example), or nice scents with OK soap functionality (Del Don). Looking forward to some new scents Donato made ...

I managed 4 shaves with the Tabacco sample i got from Connaught. A bit quirky to get a lather i like, took me a bit more time than usual to work it out, but was manageable. All in all, to me, it's a decent soap, but nothing revolutionary in comparison to others i've tried. The scent however, was a surprise. It's excellent out of the box. However, i don't know if it's due to the mierals in the tap water, but it smells like raw rubber (i.e. brand new car/bicycle/motorbike tyres) when it's lathered up, and then after the shave, the out-of-the-box scent came back. I don't consider this a flaw, it's just kind of weird.
Subjective conclusion:
Performance: average, takes time to "learn" lathering it.
Scent: in my top 10.

To me too the scent when you open the lid (really tobacco smoke like) is a bit different from when you shave and rinse ... I really like the post-shave scent (less tobacco-smoke like). I face-lather, and Tabacco for me is one of the croaps that immediately make a smooth, creamy layer.

I also tested FraRinik for the first time this morning – the slipperiness was first class, but the foam dissipated faster on my face than MWF😬.
I love Extro but having tried so many of their soaps, I face this same issue. Tried altering the water content, hydrated it less, then more but still with each use I find that the lather does dissipate. Having said that, the soap never disappoints during the shave, still top shelf.
