European postal services suspend shipment of packages to US over tariffs

This is going to turn into a big political debate soon and get the entire thread shutdown so might want to pivot back to just discussing the packages at this point.

I got a shipment from a foreign country yesterday and one on the way with tracking. It’s a very unique and interesting design and the people who run it are very knowledgeable, respectful, and responsive.

Which countries are they and do they give a reason?

The first package got into the USA before de minimus will be cancelled on 31 Aug 2025. Let us know if the second one with tracking gets in under the wire and, if not, did you have to deal with tariffs?

I don't really care as I am not in the USA. OTH, the dust will eventually settle, and you can decide then if you want to pay the USA tariff to import stuff from overseas. Remember the USA started the tariff war.

I was born smack in the middle of the boomer generation age. I started full time work in the early 1970s and then watched the economy, slowly at first, then more rapidly deteriorate till it is where we are today. I do not envy any of the later generation's economic situation. Where things go from here, I have no clue and fear we are on the edge of a societal collapse with a blue-collar middle class that is a mere shadow of its former self. Without a healthy middle class there is no stability in a democratic and capitalistic society.
