This is going to turn into a big political debate soon and get the entire thread shutdown so might want to pivot back to just discussing the packages at this point.
I got a shipment from a foreign country yesterday and one on the way with tracking. It’s a very unique and interesting design and the people who run it are very knowledgeable, respectful, and responsive.

The first package got into the USA before de minimus will be cancelled on 31 Aug 2025. Let us know if the second one with tracking gets in under the wire and, if not, did you have to deal with tariffs?

Remember the USA started the tariff war.
Kinda

U.S. tariff history is marked by distinct eras, beginning with the Revenue Period (1790–1860) focused on raising federal income through duties, followed by the Restriction Period (1861–1933), characterized by high protective tariffs to shield domestic industries, and transitioning into the Reciprocity Period (post-1934) marked by a focus on bilateral trade agreements and declining tariffs. Recent policies, particularly those by the Trump administration and continued by the Biden administration, have introduced sweeping tariffs, signaling a potential shift away from the post-WWII era of lower tariffs and globalization.

All my packages have arrived stateside so I won’t be hit. But have a Wolfman WR3 which is over de minimus anyway which is being finished now. So I’ll be hit with a tariff again. (Was hit with one on my Tatara Muramasa Ti) Thanks for letting me contribute more to the tax base of the US. Yay!

I was born smack in the middle of the boomer generation age. I started full time work in the early 1970s and then watched the economy, slowly at first, then more rapidly deteriorate till it is where we are today. I do not envy any of the later generation's economic situation. Where things go from here, I have no clue and fear we are on the edge of a societal collapse with a blue-collar middle class that is a mere shadow of its former self. Without a healthy middle class there is no stability in a democratic and capitalistic society.

Another myth Bob. Here's some nice recreational reading for you...and every other hand ringer out there.

If woke was the economy then the US is certainly that. Enjoy paying more for everything so the people who have always been doing fine will be doing better. Home of the brave! Not too smart but brave. Brave enough to pay for billionaires tax breaks! If only brave paid for veterans benefits, kids healthcare, Medicaid, school lunch, SNAP. They’re so brave they melt down over income tax, it’s why they all move to the poop hole that is Florida, but have no issue taking it in the rear with tariffs cause orange daddy says it’s good. Then they share things from blatantly biased right wing American crap think tanks as real info. Smh. Can I move to any of the countries you guys are in? Smh 🤦‍♂️
