Dipping My Toes... and Thanks

Love to see a new shaving forum, and especially with many of the familiar names from TSR! I'm a Yank from Chicago that is dipping my toes in here to get away from the purely money based forums, which push preferred products to make money for partners while limiting discussion of others... Also here to get away from the censorship from out of control moderation, while enjoying the great banter and discussion TSR has been known for in the past.

I have some strong opinions and enjoy a good, even heated, debate that doesn't take myself so seriously to not want to laugh and be friends after the exchange. Not sure if I'll last, or even if this place will overall, but I sure hope so, and hope I'll be welcomed and accepted, and hope to do likewise from my end.

Thanks for the welcome @Gordy , yeah, I'm pretty gutted about putting a lot of time and energy into a couple posts there, just gone. I think I've reached my final straw there, and really hope for the possibility of free and open discussion, without monied interests... and of course warm and light heated comradery mixed in!

Oh, Gordy was referring to a train wreck of a thread on another forum, that really was the end of my general participation there, and perhaps some others.

Artisans vs. mass produced could be a very worthwhile discussion indeed, at the right venue of course... :okay:

And posts got deleted on that thread?
I dont mean to be a stirrer but I read the recent threads talking about over moderation etc but I didnt know what a lot of it was reffering to.

About a dozen posts got deleted on that thread that I counted, and maybe more that I missed, including 4 of my own. Other threads, and members, fared worse treatment. I, for one, was just gutted to see such energy and thought wasted. And some posts that weren't touched were pretty nasty in their content, but maybe left untouched because of WHO posted them...

Apologies to any mods who feel my explanation of what occurred on another forum is inappropriate, but I feel transparency is best for all involved, especially for those left in the dark that only saw half of the events.
