Best uk artisan soap makers

Nanny’s, P&B and Wickhams, in no particular order. OSP as well.

I like the bigger brands well enough, but these artisan soaps tick the boxes for me.

Phoenix and Beau and Wickhams 1912 for me, both have a great line of soaps wth good scents. I prefer an aftershave splash to a balm and P&B have now released their full line in splashes.

I've still to try Oatcake and the Perleta is a new one on me, I would have assumed from the mane that it was Italian or such like...

I'm not sold on Oatcake, not a huge fan of the scents and not managed to get a really satisfactory shave. I think I need to spend a bit of time using it to dial it in, but i don't like the scent enough to use it more than once at a time.

Although made by another artisan, the Gentleman's Groom Room soaps are very good too.

That Groomroom Scottish Heather is a Absolute winner

The ones I have tried have all fallen short of ones from abroad such as Barrister and Mann or SV in my opinion. Hopefully we will get someone that can produce something to compete with them in scent and performance.

Its funny because for me they easily surpass B&M, which I find massively over-rated. You really need to try em to find if the work for you...

Same as this.......I have never really found B&M to be that great for me... Wickham and P&B just work well every time.

I really liked some of the scents in the sample pack, but had trouble dialing it in too. Either dried half way through a pass (still shaved really well) or ended up runny. Not the best brush wielder in the world, but feel like it takes more work/technique than others to get a good lather.

Despite that, the quality of shave I've had with Oatcake was slightly better than either Wickhams or P&B

I did say above that I have tried them and found them all lacking. Wickham I recall being ok but nothing special in the scents or slickness and a bit drying post shave. OSP lacked scent strength over the soap base and were very basic scents and P&B smelt of ammonia and short measured the tubs and again the scents were very basic and faint compared to other offerings.
