It is unfortunately maybe the only recent razor that have had some level of forum buzz that have not sold out w/in 12 hours.
Yeah, but for a company (or two in this case) coming out with a type of razor that is brand new to both of them and making an adjustable in machined steel and not cast (as well as the prospect of having interchangeable handles on an adjustable..) - I could see myself supporting their efforts at the $200 mark. $300...is maybe 30-40% too much (for me).I'm still struggling with $200. It's a razor.
I appreciate your comments DB, always do but it is still flipping expensive at $200. Over the pond, in our direction you would have to add about $25 postage and $30-40 maybe more in customs. It just isn't that appetising.Yeah, but for a company (or two in this case) coming out with a type of razor that is brand new to both of them and making an adjustable in machined steel and not cast (as well as the prospect of having interchangeable handles on an adjustable..) - I could see myself supporting their efforts at the $200 mark. $300...is maybe 30-40% too much (for me).
I wonder if they'll offer it through a European vendor down the road maybe.I appreciate your comments DB, always do but it is still flipping expensive at $200. Over the pond, in our direction you would have to add about $25 postage and $30-40 maybe more in customs. It just isn't that appetising.
It may be slightly redundant given the market price is already set and considered excessive, postage is the only variable.I wonder if they'll offer it through a European vendor down the road maybe.
I don't think the material or weight is the main factor in pricing here - but that's me speculating of course - but rather the manufacturing process (it being an adjustable steel razor that is machined and not cast),the fact that it's an 8-step-adjustable razor and as well as a design that will allow for potentially alternative handles. So a straight comparison to other Rocnel razors might be hard to do.It may be slightly redundant given the market price is already set and considered excessive, postage is the only variable.
If the main cost is attributed to the stainless steel, how much more does this razor weigh, compared to say the other rocnel razors?
Yep fair point, labour costs aren't always so transparent. I was considering if it would be cheaper buying 8 Rocnel razors set at different levels of aggression/blade gap. Or just feel like being a wind up merchant!I don't think the material or weight is the main factor in pricing here - but that's me speculating of course - but rather the manufacturing process (it being an adjustable steel razor that is machined and not cast),the fact that it's an 8-step-adjustable razor and as well as a design that will allow for potentially alternative handles. ExactlyI would love to know the unit price Bullgoose paid.
