I need to try some hindi oudh. What I found with perfume parlour is the oils have great profiles (TF parallels) but TF is more pronounced when considering individual notes as an EDP. But when PP is a fraction of the cost, you have to consider how much you are paying for the label.

Hmmm ... perfume oils and proper oudh are a world apart. Proper attars are a world apart.

You do need to spend the money to get something right. oudh.co.uk do a sampler. I'd have to look it up again, but fecal/barnyard to chocolate to ripe figs varies with country. Northern Indian to Burmese to Vietnamese to Thai, all different. Hindi is a pong, though! A good pong! Like Ralph Lauren Polo, just more so ... just the horse :D

Haha just the horse :) that made me laugh. Barnyard is definitely how I would describe TF London. I will check out some more attars. I do find most oudh to be barnyard. I did get some pure high quality oudh resin from a friend who visited Kashmir, when burnt that was gorgeous.

Oh, yeah ... proper resin is just lovely. I have some labdanum and frankincense that I'm really having to meter out ... and some muattar (steamed oudh wood soaked in attar oils, largely rose and jasmine). Yeah!

Do look around ...

Some oudhs do sit on the chocolate side and some very figgy, more fermented fig to start with, but 30-60 minutes and that "fizz" starts to wane.

I mean, come on ... something that costs that much and is so revered by so many cannot be that wrong, surely? I know what they say about acquired tastes and whether it's a taste you want to acquire, but when your nose is on right ... oudh is a wonderful thing. Just make sure (or don't care about) other folks noses being on right.

Thanks! They do give off sort of the same impression, yes, but more green in ours. We considered and had a look at the F&B chart, but ended up with a Swedish brand when we saw their "Mossa" (moss in Swedish) in a photo. Below F&B Lamp Room Gray top, Beckers Mossa below.IMG_5312.JPG
