I've a question. In the final match was the strategy to contain Messi and as a result, Spain was not able to score until extra time was added? I am asking relative to what I saw between France and England. England came out to score, not contain Mbappe.
Personally i think every team that had faced Argentina are expecting the thuggery and diving tactics, hoping to get a free kick around the box or a player sent of to gain an unfair advantage. Argentina did not have one shot on target for the whole game.
Spain were expecting exactly what they got, they need to keep cool heads and not react, they are masters of holding the ball drawing out a team then finding a gap/weakness then strike, however, playing against these tactics stifles the players, they have to be extra careful in case of injury so spoils the game. Argentina have been like this for years, this is not how the rest of the world play the game.
As for England/France, that was an exhibition game, how it can be played. Open play, fair but well contested, basically let the football do the talking and see who was best on the night, personally i think France has a better team than England and expected them to win the competition. Playing the "also ran" match does not hold anything for anyone really, it must be really difficult to be on your best form after the disappointment of the knock out, saying that both teams entertained the world and shook hands at the end of the game.
Argentina's pre final record (Maybe pre semi final i have not checked).
