Your day to day of Isolation.

So then a thread for who’s up to what daily during this social isolation period.

Today so far I have :-

Showered and shaved.
Switched the top shelf of my wardrobe bringing in the summer wardrobe to front and middle.
Taken the dog on a two mile walk.
Placed an on line order for a silver cleaning cloth and a packet of meadow seeds. If it dries up a bit then the garden needs some attention.
General tidy up.
Checked work emails as I’m “working from home”

Next up

Hoover and dust.
Dishwasher to empty !
Cook meatballs, homemade sauce of course and pasta for lunch.
Get the 3D printer going.

Then perhaps a film.

Up at 7am, feed Taz and give him is insulin injection.
Made cup of coffee and wrapped a razor I have sold ready to post.
Another cup of coffee followed by a shower and shave.
Got dressed and took Taz for his morning walk.
Back for another coffee.
Checked emails and listed some gear on BST.
Just about to go to the post office to post the razor.
Have a light snack.
Waiting for DHL to deliver some Insulin and needles for Taz.
Will strip off bedding and throw in the washing machine.
Clean kitchen floor followed by a general tidy up in the cottage.
This afternoon I shall walk Taz again and then go to the local shop for some provisions.
More coffee and a sit down and flick through Netflix to see if there is anything Worth watching.
6.30 Feed Taz and give him his second insulin injection, feed myself.
Re make my bed ready for tonight, filter 8.5 ltrs of rain water for drinking.
8pm walk Taz after which I may relax with a bottle of wine untill sleep calls me to bed :) P.

That sounds wonderful. I am doing mostly online teaching and supervision meeting with students, marking coursework and doing some editing and writing.

Then later today, I will do some music practice, cook some food (chilli con carne I think) and hone a razor I am trying to restore. Couple of beers, maybe a movie with the missus - I think that's about it. Life's not so bad for us. Many people are in a much more difficult situation.

For me to be fair it’s not a normal working day. But there is on line work for student, but for me as a tutorial teacher there isn’t anything much to do. Monday I’ll take a look and see what’s to be done.

Self isolating since Monday, but it's been a revelation. I have started to re-learn German, finished off 2 books that I've been meaning to read for a long time. Continuing with my healthy diet and light exercise. Baking different types of bread. Signed up to tough mudder to raise money for guide dogs, completed a few paint by numbers pictures and this weekend I will be making a couple of models, something I haven't done for years. I have only shaved the once this week :) Football manager is also free to play via steam for a week, but haven't started on that as yet.

It has provided a realisation that sometimes a holiday is a good break but leaves little time for myself. I would like to have another week at some point in the year and without any technology. It's my birthday today so it will be a quiet one but I am looking forward to reflecting before starting work on Monday.

Not much change in our routine except to limit going out of the house for essentials like groceries, hopefully once a week and critical medical appointments. Some of those medical/dental appointments have been cancelled already by us or the doctor/dentists office. We are having nobody over to the house except for the appliance repair man today for the refrigerator that has inconveniently decide to go TU. So far not much to adjust to.
