Your coffee brewing method

Since Cindy and I mostly only drink one cup per day each, usually in the form of a pseudo-latte, we are small scale brewers.
We used an AeroPress for a several years but are now back to the Moku pot (but a large modern stainless-steel version). It is faster than the AeroPress and makes the same strong pseudo-espresso shot as the AeroPress, while being more efficient with the coffee, using 1/3 fewer beans for the same result.

We use a Breville Luxe thermal brewer for daily drip coffee. Usually we're lazy and just buy pre-ground Peet's or Starbucks medium roast.

For espresso milk drinks we use a DF64 and Breville Bambino Plus. This is a relatively new hobby for me and I'm still learning, but the equipment has been super user-friendly. I'm using a locally roasted medium blend, "Hammerhead Stout". Setting 13 on the DF64. 17grams in and 42grams out in 30 seconds. IMS 14-18gram basket in a Normcore portafilter. Needle distribution followed by a force-limited self-leveling tamper. I make myself lattes about every other day but the wife only takes them on weekends.

Starbucks had its place 30 years ago when there was no good coffee easily available in the US. Although I’d say that Dunkin’ Donuts always had very decent coffee - but they didn’t serve any fancy double espresso breve praline soy crappuccinos.

Now, even McDonalds sells decent coffee, and people are starting to realize that Starbucks non-milk brew (i.e. regular plain old coffee) is actually rather disgusting.

That said, I still remember how excited I was to find an American-style coffee shop during our first trip to Paris at the turn of the century. The coffee served in the local restaurants was rather weak and nondescript. After a week of drinking that stuff, I was finally walking around on a brisk spring morning with a large paper cup full of strong full bodied coffee, as happy as a pig in mud.
Couldn’t agree more.
Dunkin’ Donuts also done decent coffee.
When i drove taxis in Edinburgh i always stopped anywhere i could get a pee & decent ish coffee

Great setup mate
one piece of advice stop buying supermarket coffee.
It’s nothing to do with you being lazy it’s just a choice.
I order my coffee online which takes me all off 2-3 minutes so you can’t get any lazier than that lol
