I think the power of shaving has rendered him unable to have emotions.
Fair enough, here are my answers, hopefully they can bring a little joy 
Artisan of the year: Shane (Blackbird)
Soap base of the year: haven't tried any new bases this year. My favourite this year has been icolonialli.
Splash of the year: again not tried any new splashes made in 2019. However my favourite splash this year has been Speick.
Scent of the year: sticking to pre 2019; Guerlain Vetiver, Guerlain Ideal Homme, Amouage Epic man, Dior Sauvage, TF Venetian Bergamont, TF Oud Wood, Dunhill Century (growing on me) and the best of all Loewe 7 EDT.

There is a video that shows Ruds smile but it was deleted instantly from YouTube, because they thought there was an evil double of him.
That was easy for them to find what's happening. Real Ruds would never smile.

If he was soap it would be a base that needed upgrade in terms of smiling and a speed-up when he is talking.
Also he should have a chip to allow introducing more water to his lathers.

Yes - that is utterly priceless. The fact that the whole of every video is sooooo deadpan just makes me smile.
