Wolfman OC or SB?

So I've been waiting for the Wolfman waiting list to open and in the beginning I was a stick on straight bar guy , being cautious not to drop a tonne on a razor and getting one that was too aggressive. However in between times I've purchased a ATT S1 and later an S2 and found the S2 was probably a bit smoother than the S1. Anybody any experience of the relative aggression between the open comb Wolfman and it's straight bar counterpart in relation to the S1 and S2 dynamic?

Yup, but only with both the SB and OC at 0.74mm. So the OC is definitely more akin to the S2. Likewise SB to the S1. However, the OC has much more blade feel than the S2. It shaves closer IMO. With a thicker handle I find it a bit too aggressive, but similarly with the S2.

If I had to pick I would go for the OC normal blade gap.

Argh, decisions , decisions! I suppose I could get a full SB razor and a OC base plate if that is possible. That's if I get on thr list though. Cheers fellas!

I have a normal SB. Once I get back on the list I'm requesting a normal OC (stainless).

Are you going for the OC this time because you just fancy a change or did you feel the SB was a bit too "mild" and not as precise as you would have liked?

I have managed to tame more aggressive OC, with a Bulldog handle. It now registers IMO around a 7 on a Progress. However, although it's an excellent razor, it isn't the most efficient over two passes. This is by no means to detract from the shave with is pure class.

This is when it gets tricky and exciting for me because I'm used to a 2 pass shave now with a Mongoose, Darwin, Futur and ATT S2 and I don't really want my first Wolfman experience to be a bit underwhelming. Still some thinking to do I think.

Exactly what happened to me

You want the SB set to 0.74mm or an OC. Most people say the OC set as normal is a good balance. I would opt for the more aggressive 0.74mm and then alter handles. Saves having it set more aggressively with added customs fees in the future. Put it this way with the WRH-2 handle it is around a 9 on a Progress. With a Bulldog 7 and with the ATT Bamboo a 6. Still very efficient.

My Timeless OC over 2 passes is marginally closer.

Yeah, pretty much. The SB is awfully mild and works pretty good as a daily driver. I had a polished brass OC and loved the feel of the razor but hated the brass (tarnished 5 minutes after polishing).

I would avoid the brass for the same practical reasons , as good as they look. Would you say the SB is Black Mamba or ATT M1 "mild" ?
