Windrose aluminium razor heads

Looking for interesting handles, I took another look at what Windrose has at the moment and other than the brass dragon handle, I also found out they're selling aluminium razor heads:

Open comb (this one's pretty funky):

Closed comb:

I haven't been able to find anything on the on the interwebs, so I'd thought I'd create a thread about them.
The head geometry looks a lot like the classic Above The Tie heads, so I don't think the clamp would be sufficient for me, but considering there are plenty of fans of those, someone might like them.

Very interesting - anyone taking one for the team?

I like light-weight razors but will bow out as the heads don't clamp at the very edges of the blade.

Yeah, same for me - I like that edge clamp, too.

I am sort of curious about the slant, as edge clamp might not matter quite as much there, but I'll wait for folk who like ATT-style design to give them a try first.

They look pretty good, certainly my favourite colour. I'm not sure on the top cap engraving though, the edges might feel a little rough.

Well, I bought the open comb head. Shaved with it on Sunday and mailed it back today.
The coating started peeling off on the posts already and the razor was very aggressive, unnecessarily so.
It was also very efficient and I got a glistening BBS in two passes, but the shave wasn't exactly pleasant.
Blade flex was quite noticeable and I had to do ride the top cap like I was paid to do it or it felt really scrapey. It never really felt smooth either, though. I'd quickly tried my R41 afterwards and it went: "Urk... I'll get my coat." It resembles the PAA DOC Aluminus somewhat, except for the quality of the coating and the Windrose didn't fully cover blade tabs.
I sort of wish I'd taken pictures now.
It also uses slits instead of posts, but they weren't compatible with anything else I had, so swapping the top cap was not an option, sadly.

Anyway, the coating issue aside, if you like really aggressive razors, it might be worth a punt. I already have one like it and I can tame it using a different base plate, but that didn't really work with the Windrose OC head.
