I'm glad TSR is back, it is the one site that started me off on this fantastic journey. I also know how hard being a moderator is at times. I don't use TSR anymore, however have no sour grapes. I do hope things settle. After a couple of years I started using the ShaveNook more as I wanted more in depth analysis and concise material. However soon realised that at times it's bordering on censorship and now am happy here at ATG :) I keep saying I need to try out some Facebook groups and spend more time on SRP but I need more time lol.

This seems to me to be the adult version of the problems with social media for young whipper snappers. I will read the Oscar thread later when sitting pot-wise. :cool:

TSR was the first shaving forum I joined, two years ago now. I was amazed how friendly and welcoming everyone was. It was a shock to the system as my previous experience of forums were only Hi-Fi ones. Anyone who’s been a member on one of those knows what they’re like.

Within days of joining the TSR I had members contacting me completely out of the blue offering me to send soap samples, razor blades and even a badger brush. I’ve had loads of help and advice and it’s still the same for any new members.

I joined TSR a few weeks after it kicked off with @Nishy amongst others. I was a new member so never really knew what went on. I just carried on blissfully unaware. I’ve only seen a couple of spats in the two years I’ve been on there. I stay well away and just don’t get involved. Anyone who’s a troll gets ‘ignored’. Life’s too short for those sort of people to occupy my head space. Over the two years I’ve only used the ‘ignore button’ twice. So not bad going.

Members on both forums are Gentlemen and treat each other accordingly. You really standout if you’re not and quite rightly named and shamed. We’re here to help and encourage each other….to spend money. Laffin! Only joking but there’s some truth in that too.

I’ve been very fortunate to receive so many things on loan or gifts thanks to members on both forums. I’m always amazed at the generosity of people in the shaving community.

Yeah I know I just mentioned the ‘C’ word but I do feel part of something and I actually feel as though I know the people behind the avatars.

That is really no surprise. I just wonder how much was really him or was it a character to wind folks up sometimes.

I've known a few fellows like bezoar over my time on the forums. Most don't intend to act in a troll-like manner. I suspect they are functional autistics or suffer from asbergers syndrome...or they are teenagers.

In bezoar's case, his posts ranged from the absurd to the outlandish, and his "advice" often ran contrary to generally accepted wisdom. He was a disruptive presence, if quite entertaining at times. His thread title choices were often what I would call, "click-bait."

This is a good example of a thread from another forum that didn't need to be posted, if a little common sense was applied:

Well said. I always found these threads entertaining. I must admit that I can't really see the point of trying to wind people up, much like how I can't understand how people dump litter all over the place when there are bins aplenty. :confused:
