Pan fried butter fly pork chops, baked/jacket spuds and air fryer done green asparagus tonight.

I had some work done on the roof and the roofer and I were complaining about the price of fish, it doesn't seem that long ago when a fish supper was under a fiver, a friday night treat, now you could be looking at £30+.for two.


Speaking for the present Mrs Vac here.

She went to London yesterday, went out to eat. She doesn't eat meat but is okay with fish. She was given a menu, asked if they had any fish not on the menu and was offered a sea bass, she didn't ask for any details such as price or size, thinking it would be a fillet, perhaps six inches or so.

It was ruddy enormous, she had a shock and struggled to eat half of the fish. She had a bigger shock when the bill came in at £75 just for the fish. The waiter explained 'we thought it was an unusual choice for one, it is normally for four people.'

The final bill was £275 including wine. She paid so I cannot complain.
