Try both see which you prefer, there's no straight answer to this one. Mine range from 75 - 95mm, one isn't clearly better than another but 85mm would be my preference given a choice.

No question that long, slim handles are best. Short handles are ugly - think Danny Devito compared to George Clooney. A handle should be long enough (with sufficient knurled) to enable a relaxed grip well away from the head, and light enough that the overall razor weight is comfortable. This is why I prefer titanium.
Let the aesthetics guide you in terms of girth - but if you are drawn towards a fatter style, you have little or no taste.

For me, the answer is to learn to shave with both and then choose the best head and handle combination that works for you.

Whilst I prefer longer handles, I’ve found that some short handles (such as an ATT Atlas) generally work well for me, whilst other short handles (Timeless and Blackbird for example) really didn’t work that well at all.

Sometimes the material the handle is made from can be a deciding factor. I find that an aluminium Razorock Halo handle works for me, whilst I struggle with the stainless steel and titanium versions of the same handle.

It’s all about getting the right balance in order to a get the best combination that suits you. It really is a something of a personal thing and is another case of YMMV.

Easier to control huh?
I don’t think length does much for control. You can always choke up on a long handle. Balance is important and that varies as to where you hold your razor. I personally like shorter handles and don’t see much use for any handle over 100mm. 90mm works well for me but I don’t discriminate and use all my handles with joy.

I like to rest my pinky on the end of my FaTip when I shave. Different shave strokes for different folks.
