hello people, so whats better for controlling de razors? short or long handles?

i want to improve my technique and im a head shaver,
i've only ever used normal size de razors, havent gone out my way for a shorter or longer handle de razor

i appreciate this could be subjective and a matter of personal choice,
but is there like an assumption that one is better then the other due to the positioning of the hand and fingers?

I think that you don't post enough in general, you don't like the forum??

Longer handles will help with the pressure.
Shorter give better control but you will press more.
yea i do post a lot, if it p's anyone off just let me know lol 😋

cool, which ones do you prefer?

As much short or long handle will impact the razor balance and pressure pattern, i personally feel the road is somewhere in between. I dont head shave but too long a handle and i struggle shaving neck. Too short and sometime the handle end slips from pinky finger it rest on, startling.
As an aside for head shave have you tried Gillette Guard? It has long and a light plastic handle. It shaves so good that if i was not wanting a DF'S+ shave i'd dump all my DE razors.

This really is pretty subjective. Different strokes and all that. I also think it's more than just length but also girth as well as weight that contributes to liking a particular handle. I find I like relatively fat handles. I also like handles that range from 80mm to 85mm. 90mm is beginning to be too long for me. My favorite handles are a couple of iKon Bulldogs, one 80mm and one 85mm. I also like RazoRock's Barber Pole and HD handles. I have lots of razors but after trying many, I've settled on these handles paired with 3 different heads. I find Gillette's Common Bar handle too short, thin and light. My favorite Gillette handle appears to be their Bulldog but sadly I've never been able to get my hands on one. I just know I'd love it though. The ball end Tech handle is way too thin for me. The ball end Old Type handle is a little better than that because it's a little longer and fatter, but still not ideal for me. You just have try them until you find something that feels right in your hand.
