Listening to choral music this AM which always reminds me of high school choir. I asked the family if schools still have choirs and they said they didn't think so. Our director was able to take a bunch of back woods children including athletes and have them sing in 8 part harmonies, with a mixed seating arrangement and often in Latin.

side-note: we had peanut oil deep-fried fries before 5 Guys came out... on a vacation to Assateague(?) Island Maryland which is close to Ocean City boardwalk a place called Thrasher's Fries... the line for those fries got blocks long... wanted to take that 2ish hour drive every week... hahaha...

I learned a new word Sunday. The small church I attend is having and event and people are asked to sign up to volunteer. A friend said I could volunteer with him. Another person said I was "voluntold".
@purerockfury are friends and I knew they would not force me, or at least I suspect they aren't. "Butt", no telling what they may be up to.

I had a vicar like that, you could not wish to meet a nicer bloke and he had a massive ability of making you run around at his behest doing stuff, such as playing cricket in the church team or collecting grumpy people who didn't have a car or want to be collected anyway or helping out at the church bring and buy sale.I learned a new word Sunday. Were you ever glad you agreed to do what the vicar asked you to do?
During my professional career we would role play and/or have other activities to get us "out of our comfort zone". We would study our own and other's mannerisms so we might improve how we were presenting. I think actors do this as well.
If the pastor of this gathering asked me to do something, I would or at least try. I have seen her working alongside of us often during events. She is not concerned with getting her hands dirty.
